Can you believe it?!?

Yes, yes I know....I've been a vewwy bad blogger!! Busy busy in the GreeneHouse growing and changing and I Sarah do solemnly swear to update more frequently. Quite a bit to report on over the past month, so I'll just touch on some things and show the best pics (be sure to look at the Flickr page for all the updated pictures).

Zach is now learning to sit up on his own and is becoming ever more interactive and interested in the world around him.

He turned 6 months old on June 13 (where does the time go?) and in honor of the occassion he has sprouted up 2 teeth! At Zach's check-up he weighed 18 lbs 9 oz. and was 27 inches long and of course he remained in the 90% for head size with his big noggin :) Look closely and you can see his 2 little bottom teeth.

Father's day was a good day for all, especially Dave of course...check out Zach's shirt!

Zach just loves being in the swimming pool and he got a fancy new floaty so he can stay in the pool and be out of the sun (what they won't come up with these days!). Here he is for the first time this swimming season in Great Grandpa Ostman's pool.

Last but not least, Zach got outfitted in some baseball gear (rally cap and all). Uncle Bob and Zachary were ready for the game - Go Twins!! David would like to add that Zach will be a Brave's fan, not a Twin's fan. I won't even justify that comment with a response :)

"Breaking" News!

A Breakthrough!
5/27/2008 6:23 a.m.

This just in! A 5 1/2 month old adorable baby boy in Blaine, MN was spotted with a tooth breaking through. The alleged tooth is located on his bottom gum line where the top ridges of it can be felt and seen. We'll be following this development closely and keep you updated as the action happens!

A New Green In The GreeneHouse!
5/25/2008 5:30 p.m.

In other news, Zachary Greene ate his first vegetable ever (green beans) last Sunday evening for dinner. His parents proudly report that, while unsure at first, Zach ended the meal smiling and wanting more.

Go Bananas!

Bec and Wes inspired us to try something else besides cereal and so we ventured onward in the world of solid foods to try bananas. Zachary loves them! He's his daddy's boy and is enjoying the sweetness of his new food. He gets so amped for the next bite that he holds his arms out and shakes excitedly :) Veggies to follow next week!

Toots In Action

This is a short little video showing Zach in action. As you will see he is working on being able to sit on his own, but just doesn't quite have it mastered yet!

5 months!

It seems that I can barely keep up with this little guy!! It was just yesterday (or so it seems) that Zachary was 4 months old and now today he is already 5 months old. I am with Zach every day so I don't notice little things as much as those who only see him once in a while. I am, however, noticing that he is much more alert and his attention span for things is greater. We were "people watching" at the mall on Saturday and he followed people with his eyes and head until they were no longer in view. He most definitely knows his own name and will turn towards you if you call him by it. He laughs out loud at more things as well, like something he sees on a cartoon or when Aria meows and rubs her face against him. Luckily Aria tolerates Zach petting her (aka pulling on her fur) and trying to eat her ears. She just purrs and sits there lovingly, they are going to be great buddies for sure :) I have yet to catch a picture with the 2 of them though, but I'll keep working on it! Here are some pictures from today- I also tried to upload a video, but it didn't work :( I'll give that another go tomorrow.
More pictures on Flickr of Zach being 5 months old and from Mother's Day - Enjoy!

Water Baby

Zach got prepared for the summer season of swimming pools and vacations at the lake by going swimming for the first time! He looked slightly confused as we entered the water, but he was soon splish splashin like a pro. The only snaffu was that he kept trying to get the water in his mouth so we ended up doing very little belly swimming. Zachy and Mommy are planning on taking a swim class at the YMCA next month where he'll continue his aquatic adventures :)

4 Months Old!

The term growing like a weed is certainly appropriate for our Zachary! At 4 months he is now a strapping 16 lbs 11 oz and 26 inches long. He shot up from 50 to 85% for height and remains in the 90's for weight! He's a smiley, happy guy and he loves socializing and playing. Zach's big landmark for this his 4 month birthday is his first time eating cereal. He seemed a little unsure at first but then caught on quickly. He loves cereal time and smiles all the way through the feeding. Check out these pictures of his very first time eating with a spoon and as always make sure to look at our Flickr page (see link on the right side of this page) for all the other pictures!
