Oh my...

Let's see...it is May 24th and my last post was January something...I'm so terrible...

This pregnancy is going really well....particularly in comparison to how sick and miserable I was with Zach! The only "problem" right now is that the baby is breach (upside down), but he/she has alot of time to flip back around so I'm not worried. I am getting kicked/punched/head-butted/elbowed all day and all night, this is one active baby!

Zachary is also one active kid and he chatters all day long while playing :) He says: hi, ball, mama, dada, no and baby really well. We can tell when he says kitty too, although it doesn't come out as clearly. He is now walking like a pro as well, hardly ever crawling anywhere anymore.

I would promise to post more, but based on my history I'd better not :)

Happy Memorial Day!

2 Birthdays and A New Year's Resolution

Soooo, obviously it's been quite some time since I did any updating or posting on this here blog. Time runs away from me and so does a one year old, which in essence are the poor excuses I have for staying away so long.
December brought two glorious events - Zachary's first birthday and Jesus' birthday!
Both were celebrated with much joy, reflection and gratitude. We got to spend time with friends and family for both occasions and closed another year with the knowledge that God is good ALL THE TIME.
Now, I usually don't partake in resolutions as that seems to be a recipe for disaster, but my one resolution for 2009 is to keep this up to date more often. Going back to work and intensely missing Zach for the few hours I am away from him each day gave me fresh perspective on how hard it is to love him and be away from him full time. So for all those who love Zach, particularly his long-distance grandparents, I resolve to give you more Zachary on a weekly basis.

Here are a few pictures from Zach's birthday and from Christmas.

A Day of Thanks

Today I am thankful for about a million different things. I could go on and on to list them but that would take the rest of my life I think. The one thing I really reflected on today is that I need to have more of a spirit of thanksgiving every other day of my life and not just today. It's so easy to get mired down in circumstance and struggle and look at the needs instead of looking at the ups and the victories and the praises I could sing of everything I have been blessed with.
And believe you me, I have been BLESSED!!

Most of all, I am thankful to be the daughter of the Father, the bride of the redeeming Christ and the receiver of the Spirit that surrounds and protects me. I have a loving husband, a healthy son who fills my life with joy and family that loves and supports me. I have friends who have stood the test of time and have been by my side for the tears and laughter (and the times that those two things occur together) and I couldn't ask for anything more from them. I have a bed to lay my head down on each night, under a roof that doesn't leak, in a house that runs heat and clean water whenever I need. I have food a-plenty and clothes to keep me warm. I am free to worship who, how and where I want (The Living God....in case you were wondering).
What more could I possibly ask for?

I AM BLESSED!

Baring It All

The trees are becoming stark and bare with the leaves having turned and now most have fallen. I love the fall, but dislike this time of transition of autumn to winter when the colors have gone and the trees are so bare. I actually look forward to the snow as I think it's beautiful....I guess that's the Minnesota gal in me!

The good thing, however, about the leaves falling is you get to rake them into big piles and have some fun. While I didn't run and jump into the pile or set up a slide to slide into the leaves (this year anyway) I did get to take some cute pictures of our little pumpkin sitting and playing amongst the fallen foilage.
